Minday Kaling

In case you were wondering what I ended up reading.. I chose Mindy Kaling's new book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns).

I have seen Mindy on The Office and of course always thought she was pretty funny. But now I am pretty sure we could be close (if not best) friends. She seems like a really fun, down-to-earth, hilarious girl.

I read the book in about two days, which for me is pretty good. This book is great for a light read, which is the only kind of reading I do. Will would ask me, "what are you laughing at.." I would tell him and he would just kind of roll his eyes. He likes books like, The Economic Crisis of 1723 (obviously made up the name) or The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin or insert boring book name here. You know books that he might actually learn something. I much prefer a book that I don't have to think or study, just enjoy. To each his own.

Next up on my reading list.. Tina Fey's Bossypants. Yep, another funny one.

Music Monday - Holley Maher

Since Christmas is right around the corner, I thought I'd share one of my favorite new Christmas songs! Also check out Holley's Always Be. I LOVE it.

what to read....

Will is a huge reader. He seriously always has his nose stuck in a book. I am not so much. When I was younger I used to read all the time, but I have just kind of gotten out of it. I got an early Christmas present from my parents, the new Kindle Fire!! I love it so far, because you can do so much with it. But I am thinking that I want to get back into the reading habit.. I need some book suggestions..

Music Monday

I found out about the Paper Kites pretty recently, and I just love them. They have several beautiful videos, and their songs are just great. Check em out.

Christmas time is coming...

I saw this article this morning that basically sums up who Christ is in this mini-biography.. Since we are approaching his birthday.. I thought I would share.. check it out.

Jesus Christ is the faithful witness. Jesus came to earth to more fully reveal the character and ways of the Father (John 14:9). The miracles He performed validated His claim to be the Son of God.

Jesus Christ is the first-born from the dead. The Savior bore our sins and died on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day. His resurrection proved that eternal life is possible for us, too, as Jesus taught in John 11:25: "He who believes in Me will live even if he dies."

Jesus Christ is the ruler of the kings of the earth. It is the Lord who raises men to power, just as it is He who removes them (John 19:11; Rom. 13:1). Meanwhile, believers have access to a higher authority. In God's throne room, we can beseech Him on behalf of our nations and lay claim to His promises.

Jesus Christ loves us and released us from our sins by His blood. Note the change of tense in John's writing. The Lord's love is ever-present, but He has freed believers from their past. Both the penalty and power of sin have been broken.

This Christmas, remember he is the reason for the season.
