Gold Rush – Beth’s pov

Well, another Gold Rush* has come and gone.  It was great, just like all the years past.  We were able to watch the parade with all the little Misses and Mister Gold Rushes, tractors, bands, and old cars.  We had a hard time choosing what kind of festival food we wanted.  There were choices like turkey legs, friend snickers bars, BBQ and of course funnel cakes.  We had plenty of time to check out the local vendors and see some of the towns local antique stores.  This was Will's first Gold Rush adventure and I think that he loved it.  I hope so, because I don't want to have to drag him up year after year.

This year we also had our NGCSU Softball Alumni game on the last day of Gold Rush, and I am just now getting over being sore from pitching.  I pitched 5 innings and for the last three days have felt like I was hit by a Mack truck.  It's been 5 years since I have seriously pitched, but I just can't stop myself from pitching like I have been practicing for a couple of hours everyday like I did in college.  Man, how things change.  I forget just how much of my body I use when I really pitch.  Will took some pictures so that I could analyze my form (which was sadly lacking a little).  Stay tuned for those in a later post...

*For the less fortunate who do not know what Gold Rush is... Every year, around the third weekend in October Dahlonega has a big arts and crafts festival.  The reason that I love it so much is because a lot of my friends from college up in Dahlonega made a plan to go up every year as a reunion.  We always have a big group of friends just like the old college days.
